Microneedling – Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a procedure that uses a group of tiny needles that create micro-injuries to the skin. The micro-injuries create a natural healing response which triggers collagen and elastin production. Boosting collagen reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothes acne scars, restores lost volume, and improves the overall texture, firmness and thickness of the skin. Microneedling can be done pretty much anywhere on the body, however the most common areas are the face, neck, and décolleté.

Prevention
It is safe for all skin types and colors. The micro-injuries we make in your skin trigger a natural healing response or a sort of “remodeling” process. Your body brings in collagen and elastin which creates the most change.
The benefit to doing this procedure vs a laser is that micro needling has a much faster healing process. After a laser procedure your skin has to come in and remove the damaged tissue before it can bring in collagen and elastin to heal. With Micro needling there is no damaged tissue to remove just small needle holes to fill. Treatment costs can vary from $50-300 per treatment.
What to expect:
A topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the skin to ensure a comfortable treatment. This will be left on the skin for approximately 30 minutes before the session begins. During the treatment, the microneedling pen glides across your skin, puncturing the skin by creating hundreds of micro-injuries. When your microneedling is finished, we apply soothing serums or creams to finish the procedure.
Immediately following the procedure, the skin will appear slightly pink to red similar to a mild to moderate sunburn. Additionally after the treatment, the skin can feel dry, rough, tight, peel, or feel tender. These are all normal side effects, and will resolve during the healing process.
The results will happen over the next few weeks, repairing the skin making it thicker with a firmer foundation, leaving your skin renewed and healthy. Microneedling will renew your skin where you have sun damage, acne scars, or hyperpigmentation. As this happens, your wrinkles and fine lines will soften and you’ll look years younger.
