Dr. Lena Elizabeth Gowring

Dr. Lena Gowring, is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.

She was born in Great Falls Montana and raised in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest. She completed medical school at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 2008. After finishing a surgical internship year at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio Texas, she completed the USAF Aerospace Medicine Primary Course and served as a flight surgeon. She was stationed at McConnell, AFB in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Gowring attached to the 350th Air Refueling Squadron. as a General Medical Officer Flight Surgeon from 2009 2012. During this time, she cared for the aircrew and their families and also deployed overseas to serve in Operation(s) enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Dr. Gowring completed dermatology residency training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, in San Antonio, Texas. She served as the chief resident during her last year and earned board certification July 2015. Dr. Gowring moved to the Idaho Falls area in 2018, after completing 10 years active duty service in the Air Force.

Dr. Gowring enjoys practicing all aspects of dermatology both medical and cosmetic. She and her family are excited to create a home in the Idaho Falls area. They enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, and downhill skiing.
